Where is Nigeria, Africa?

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a quick picture of where I will be going in Africa!
Nigeria, Africa is in the western region of Africa. Nigeria is Africa's most populous country and borders to Niger, Tsjad, Benin, and Kamerun.
Abuja is the capital city in Nigeria, but the coastal city Lagos is the biggest.
Nigeria can offer beautiful nature, and a colorful culture.
It can be dangerous to travel in, but it can also be a great experience. I am confident it will be a wonderful and life changing experience!

What is Rotary International?

Hi Everyone!
I wanted to take a few minutes to explain to all my followers what Rotary International is....Here is a quick overview:

What would it take to change the world? Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

Check out the website! Get involved in your local Rotary Club!!

My Trip to Africa

I want to give my followers a little background of my trip to Africa.  I am going as part of the Rotary initiative known as Reach Out to Africa.  Several years ago Rotary International (RI) teamed up with Rotary Nigeria to help fund projects in the area. Some of our main objectives are to review and approve projects in the area as well as continue to work on projects that have been started but not completed.

Also, as many of you may know one of RI's goals is to eradicate polio. Several of the days spent in Nigeria will be to set up and run immunization clinics.

I'm one of 13 members going on this trip to Nigeria. I'm happy to have you checking in on my blog. I hope to post blogs about our time in Africa and what we are doing each day as well as pictures of my experiences.

Your in Rotary Service,
Kelli
